Social Care and the Law in Scotland

This Act covers a variety of aspects relating to the wellbeing of children and young people. The areas identified are:

•Early Learning and Childcare

•Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)

•Children’s Rights and Children’s Services Planning

•Provisions to Support Those in Care and Care Leavers

Equality Act 2010 was to provide what was described by the Government as a new ‘cross-cutting’ legislative framework to promote equality for all. It was designed to simplify and strengthen the legal framework.
