John S.C. Abbott was an American historian best known for his books on some of the most important people and events in history. John's brother Jacob was also a well-known author of popular historical biographies. This is Abbott's book on the history of the Russian Empire which stretched from 1721 until the February Revolution in 1917. A table of contents is included.
