“God and the King” is a historical novel by Marjorie Bowen, describing the events of the Glorious Revolution of 1688, which led to the deposition of James II and VII, kings of England, Scotland, and Ireland, and his replacement by his daughter Mary II and her husband William III of Orange, stadtholder, and de facto ruler of the Dutch Republic.
