Lawrence, the Gentleman Companion, boards the ship for his last cruise with his parents. He faced the difficult moments of telling Angeline, the Cruise Director, and Rolf, his butler that his HIV had progressed to AIDS. All of his dates are held on the ship so he can be monitored by the medical team and security. The reader is challenged to understand the journey of AIDS and to perhaps find themselves introduced to unknown social issues. Lawrence finds himself knocking on one of his companion dates doors, an action strictly forbidden by his ship contract, only to find his most memorable date.
The anniversary cruise is filled with pirate actors who add humor and suspense to their presence on the ship. His parents, first time cruisers, demonstrate the innocent pleasures of the spoiling world of a cruise ship. His dates range from a tea party, an aerial show, flying kites off the back of the ship, golfing off the ship to magical dinners in the Gold Key Room.
The reader will learn, love, and hug the Gentleman Companion while reading the final book of the series.
