This Western-style novel features Hopalong Cassidy in a later stage of his life. The original gang has grown up, got married, and settled down, and all is going well until one of them, Johnny Nelson, has his cattle stolen by a bunch of rustlers. Immediately they are informed the gang members are back helping out Johnny in the only way they know how. Lots of shooting, shouting, drinking, and gambling ensues as they struggle to get the cattle back.
