I wanted him to show anger where the reader would probably feel angry, or be sad where they felt sad, or be uncomfortable, or sometimes just laugh along with Hannah. Clay’s story was harder to write because I had to keep his half of the story interesting compared to Hannah’s dramatic tale, which was being told simultaneously.
